Martin Wilkinson

Martin Wilkinson

Incoming Director

Martin became Director for SLOSS on 3 June 2024.  He has a commissioning background working across the South East London system for nearly 30 years undertaking a number of roles covering hospital, community care, mental health, and primary care services.

Martin has held senior roles leading organisations and partnerships, predominantly in Lewisham and most recently Southwark, as well as system wide collaborations as senior responsible officer for SEL transformation programmes and initiatives in mental health and children & young people.

Associate Director, Networks and Transformation

As the Associate Director for Networks and Transformation, Alice leads the development of South London specialised clinical networks, providing support to network managers and clinical leads to deliver improvements for patients. She also oversees the programme’s pilots to ensure maximum impact to patients and the system. Previous to her SLOSS post, Alice served as the South London Cardiovascular Network Manager.

Associate Director, Delegation and Efficiencies

Dan is the SLOSS Associate Director for Delegation and Efficiencies, leading the transition to specialised delegation, the multi year efficiencies programme, and the team’s analytics work, ensuring data-based insight from a wide range of sources across the whole of specialised services.

Andrea Marlow

Business Development Manager

Andrea is the Business Development Manager for the SLOSS team, with a focus on communications and coordination to amplify the visibility of the team, programme, and resulting impact. Bringing over two decades of experience and an MBA in marketing to the NHS, she has worked across a variety of clinical networks and is passionate about leveraging digital elements to internal and external communications.

Neurosciences Collaboration Manager

Bethan is the Neurosciences Collaboration Manager focused on the delivery of the South West London and Surrey Specialised Neurology Pilot. The pilot is a national exemplar programme for neurosciences transformation and a regional exemplar for specialised delegation. The two-year SWL and Surrey Heartlands Specialised Neurology Pilot was initiated in summer 2022 to reduce variation in neurology services, to deliver more integrated care, closer to home, while escalating to the tertiary centre when most appropriate.

London Sickle Cell Improvement Programme Manager

Donna joined the team in September 2023 as the pan-London Sickle Cell Improvement Project Manager, covering a number of workstreams, including improving urgent and emergency care pathways, and community services for people living with sickle cell disorder. Donna previously worked within Cardiovascular operations at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Ella Wilson

Project Manager

Ella joined the team in April 2023 on secondment from the Civil Service, having previously spent time in both project and operational roles. Since then, Ella has worked to support the development and co-ordination of the London Sickle Cell Improvement Programme. Building on this work, Ella has been appointed as a Project Manager to support the delivery of the Sickle Cell Improvement Programme in South East London. This will involve working across networks, trusts, commissioners, primary care and voluntary and charity sector organisations to support the delivery of the Programme across the next two years.

Iesha Lovatt

Informatics Project Manager

Iesha joined the team in July 2023 as an Informatics Project Manager, after two years on the NHS Graduate Management Scheme specialising in health informatics. With a background in mathematics, statistics and informatics, Iesha has been providing enhanced analytic and data capabilities to a range of the team’s specialised projects.

Building on this, Iesha’s role will also involve developing data-driven and informatics approaches to specialised transformation, as well as hoping to support the implementation of digital tools and solutions such as CogStack and AI algorithms.

Project Manager

Giacomo recently joined the SLOSS team as a project manager, and will be overseeing a range of initiatives that aim to improve efficiency throughout South London. Previously, he worked at Oxfordshire County Council managing a programme that integrated their supported transport services.

Lauren Blum

Lauren Blum

Project Manager

Lauren joined the SLOSS team as a project manager, and will be overseeing the development, co-production and rollout of the South East London (SEL) renal cardiometabolic work. This will include running a pilot in each of the SEL boroughs where a multidisciplinary team  will support community case management for those with chronic kidney disease and additional cardiometabolic conditions. She will also look to grow the secondary care aspect of work for patients closer to end stage renal failure. Previously, Lauren has led ICB development and strategic work for South Yorkshire ICB as well as multiple NHS project evaluations.

Nina van Zyl

Project Manager

Nina is a SLOSS Project Manager and the South London Lead for the NHS England opt-out blood-borne virus testing programme in Emergency Departments and the South London HIV Network. She has worked with clinicians across the region monitoring uptake and implementing improvements to HIV and hepatitis B and C testing. She brings her experience of working with stigmatised blood-borne viruses from her previous role as Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network manager for South West London.

Heidi joined the team in March 2024 on secondment from the Civil Service, having previously spent time in both project and policy roles. Since then, Heidi has been appointed as a Project Manager to support the delivery of the Sickle Cell Improvement Programme in South London, working across networks, trusts, commissioners, primary care and voluntary organisations.

Alicia joined the team in March 2024, on secondment from the Civil Service, having spent time in programme and finance roles. She will be working with Lauren on the South East London (SEL) renal cardiometabolic project. Alicia will also be supporting in other areas on the SLOSS team.

Ciara Martin

Project Support Officer

Ciara has joined the team in July 2023 as the SLOSS Project Support Officer. Ciara will be primarily working to provide communications support across the programme, and effectively promote the impact the programme has had on populations and communities in South London and beyond. Previously, Ciara worked at the Health Innovation Network, providing project support to the healthy ageing and mental health teams.
